Hawk Stars is an action packed 7-week snowboard development program designed for riders ages 7-13 who are ready to build confidence and take their skills to the next level.

Whether your child wants to tackle steeper terrain, ride switch, improve their technique, or simply become a stronger, more confident snowboarder, Hawk Stars provides the coaching and support to help them reach their goals.

Participants are grouped by similar age, ability, with an average of five riders per group. Each group is led by the same coach throughout the program, allowing for consistent instruction and steady progression from week to week.

ELIGIBILITY

Participants must be 7 years old by December 31, 2026 (birth years 2013-2019) to enroll.
To participate, riders must:

  • Be able to make controlled skidded turns on both heel and toe edges with both feet strapped into the snowboard.
  • Be able to ridge the Nutmeg chair independently, including loading, unloading, and lowering the safety bar without assistance.
  • Meet Snowboarding Skill Levels 3-8.

REGISTRATION

Registration for 2026/2027 Children’s Development Programs will take place through Mohawk Mountain’s Children’s Development Program Lottery.
Lottery dates will be announced soon.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Program fees include a Junior Anytime Season Pass, for the exclusive use of the participant.

There are no scheduled make-up sessions unless the program is cancelled by Mohawk Mountain due to extreme weather. If a cancellation occurs, you will be notified by email with both the cancellation notice and the make-up date.

A parent or guardian must remain within 20 minutes of Mohawk Mountain during each session and be available to return to the mountain is needed.
