RACE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Skiers Ages 7-13   (Birth Years 2013-2019)

26/27 PROGRAM LOTTERY DATES COMING SOON

The Mohawk Mountain Development Squad (DSquad) is a 7-week race development program designed for skiers ages 7-13 who are ready to build upon the fundamentals of alpine skiing while being introduced to the exciting world of ski racing.

Throughout the season, athletes will spend time refining their skills through race-specific drills in brush, stubbie, and gate courses, while also practicing U.S. Ski & Snowboard (USSS) SkillsQuest exercises.
The season concludes with a fun race, giving participants the opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed throughout the program.
Whether your child hopes to join Mohawk Mountain’s Alpine Race Team or is simply looking for a fun introduction to ski racing with a lower time commitment, DSquad is a great place to develop racing skills while enjoying time on the snow.

For athletes looking to train more frequently and compete in additional races, we encourage exploring our Interclub Race Program.

CHAIRLIFT ROOKIE TRAINING

At Mohawk Mountain, we take chairlift safety very seriously.

All new DSquad participants who have not previously participated in Mountain Division must successfully complete Chairlift Rookie Training before the program begins. During this complimentary 30-minute session, a Snowsports Professional will ensure your child can safely use the Arrowhead chair, including loading, unloading, and lowering the safety bar without assistance.
Because the Arrowhead chair may not be operating early in the season, please check its operating status before traveling to the mountain.

To schedule your child’s Chairlift Rookie Training session, please call the Snowsports Discovery Center at (860) 672-6100 ext. 136.

Participants who have not completed Chairlift Rookie Training before the program begins will not be permitted to participate. If you are unable to commit to completing Chairlift Rookie Training prior to the start of the program, please do not register your child for DSquad.

Program fees include a Junior Anytime Season Pass for the exclusive use of the participant.
