Purpose
The MOUNTAIN DIVISION AT MOHAWK offers children advanced skiing and snowboarding instruction in an atmosphere of fun, with exiting programming enhancements to make every week seem new and different!

Skiers (ages 6-12) focus on improvements and technique, and are offered an introduction to racing. For those who are interested, participation in THE MOUNTAIN DIVISION helps to prepare them over one or two seasons for the rigors and commitments required to possibly join the Mohawk Junior Race Program. Children not aspiring to be racers will find their new abilities make skiing safer and more fun!!
 

Snowboarders (ages 7-12) in THE MOUNTAIN DIVISION develop advanced riding skills, with introduction to jumping & tricks. Riding safely, skill improvements and technique are emphasized – along with camaraderie and fun!

Training
Training begins at 9:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sundays. On the first day, Saturday, Jan 5, 2013 THE MOUNTAIN DIVISION SQUADS will meet on the deck; thereafter they will meet promptly at the end of the bridge by the banner. Lunch is scheduled for 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Parents are responsible for their children during the lunch break and must pick them up at the banner at 11:30. Remember - the program does not include lunch.

Season
THE MOUNTAIN DIVISION runs every Saturday and Sunday (except Martin Luther King weekend - January 19 & 20, 2013 and President’s weekend - February 16 & 17, 2013) from Saturday, January 5, 2013 through Sunday, March 3, 2013. This year you have three (3) pre paid, pre scheduled programs to choose from.

•  All Fourteen (14) days Includes Race Day and Special Award Ceremony
•  Saturday’s Only, (8 days total) includes the Special Award Ceremony on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
•  Sunday’s Only, (8 days total) includes Race Day on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

Color coded ID’s will be issued for the program chosen. RACE DAY (for skiers only – snowboarders will have different programming) is on Saturday, February 23, 2013 weather permitting. The special awards ceremony for all participants in THE MOUNTAIN DIVISION will take place on Sunday March 3, 2013. Any of our skiing squad members are welcome to participate in the race if he/she has attended a minimum of 5 days, one of which was training in the gates.

Qualifications - Ski candidates must be

• Age 6 (by December 31, 2012) to 12 years old,
• able to ride all Mohawk chair lifts unassisted with another child and lower the safety bar,
• able to ski all blue terrain.
• Helmets are required.

• age 7 (by December 31, 2012) to 12 years old,
• able to ride all Mohawk chair lifts unassisted with another child, and lower the safety bar
• able to snowboard all blue terrain.

Sign Up and Payment

Registration is online only, at www.mohawkmtn.com beginning August 1, 2012.  After purchasing your program through THE EXPRESS LINE, you will be directed to download two forms – a registration form and a waiver.  Your registration is not complete until both of these forms have been received by The Mohawk Learning Center.  Please follow the instructions on the forms, and submit them no later than 15 days after completing your online purchase. Programs will go on sale on August 1, 2012.

Membership in MOUNTAIN DIVISION includes: weekly coaching, all activities and materials, official MOUNTAIN DIVISION swag & Official MOUNTAIN DIVISION patch.

Registration fee is bundled with your choice of an ANYTIME or DAY Junior Season Pass at early-bird prices!  (CHILD PASS bundle available for children who are age 5 at time of purchase, but will be age 6 prior to December 31, 2012.)

Refunds

There will be a 25% cancelation fee once you have purchased one of the programs. If for some reason
your child does not wish to continue in the program, you have the first two (2) scheduled days to
withdraw. We must be notified within 6 days, before the third (3rd) scheduled day. Your refund will
be adjusted per days attended plus the 25% cancelation fee. After the third (3rd) scheduled day no
refund will be issued except for a medical reason with a Doctor’s note. You may then withdraw at any
time during the season, and your refund will be adjusted per the number of days attended.

Please note that there are no swapping days if you are enrolled in the Saturday or Sunday program.
